After the Priceline.com 2016 brand refresh and the introduction of the user generated photography style, we discovered an opportunity to show just how much our company loves what we do.
PicMe was an internal photo contest to showcase our staff’s travel pics. These were real people, taking real pics during their travels. The concept was simple: Pics are quick shots, not staged photos, not people standing all proper in front of some landmark. These were real moments during real travel. We announced the contest by dropping a custom frame on everyone’s desks. It contained the rules, deadline and URL but most importantly, the frame was something they could put their favorite pics in.
The site design was simple and clean and most importantly, designed mobile first since almost every submission was coming via smartphone.
The contest was a smashing success with over 1000 entries and nearly 100 accepted pics that would be used in campaigns from social media to hiring campaigns.
